QB Coach Steve Gregory had shoulder surgery years ago and ran across his rehab harness. After already coaching QB's for years and understanding the sequencing of passing mechanics, this gave him the initial idea. 2013
So his first basic idea finally put on paper within a power-point presentation. (Jan 2014)
Needing a three dimensional version to explain his idea a rendering was created.(June 2014)
After months of researching for materials and manufacturing companies locally and overseas. Coach Gregory found a local company called Seam Craft Inc. in Chicago, IL (Dec 2014)
Seam Craft's Executive Vice President, Ed Kuhr held Coach Gregory's hand the entire time as he created the perfect training tool straight from a conversation and few pictures. Ed is GREAT at what he does and was extremely instrumental!
The beginning process started with ideas, pieces and measurements that Ed organized, coordinated and made look very easy.
The sizing and fitting seemed to be the most difficult based on the wide variety of ages and sizes of quarterbacks to use the Chest-Q.
A very exciting day coming home with the first unit that can actually be used on students to see the first hand impact of using the Chest-Q.
The final design wasn't complete without the perfect material needed for the power band which is one of the main elements of the Chest-Q.
After all the thought and planning put into creating the Chest-Q and finally see the first shipment of boxes arrive was a tremendous day, most of which were already sold.
The unveiling of the Chest-Q was at the (THSCA), Texas High School Coaches Association Show in Houston Texas. There was 20,000 coaches in attendance over a period of one week. All Chest-Q units sold out within a few hours of the opening of the show on day one.
Coach Gregory has spent multiple months speaking to Coaches, parents and quarterbacks about the new QB training tool. Seen in this picture with Coach Gary Crowton, former D1 Head Coach of BYU, and Offensive Coordinator for LSU, Boston College, Oregon, and NFL Chicago Bears.
